A Logo for Inflammation Research Erlangen đ„
Inflammation Research Erlangen stands for interdisciplinary inflammation research for the development of innovative, targeted therapies against chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Together, we want to make our research and our findings more visible.
This led to the task of designing a logo. A logo that embodies exactly what Inflammation Research Erlangen stands for. We wanted a symbol that shows our field of research and at the same time our affiliation with the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-NĂŒrnberg (FAU), the Deutsche Zentrum Immuntherapie and the Uniklinikum Erlangen. We brought the talented designer Alexander Kreismann on board for this creative process.
Alexander crystallised two central symbols: the flame stands for #inflammation – a phenomenon that can be both vital and dangerous. It symbolises the dynamism and potential of our research work. The #target, on the other hand, stands for precision and accuracy. It represents our mission of resolving inflammation at the precise points where it occurs and developing targeted therapies.
Now came the exciting part: how do you combine the flame and target to create a uniform and meaningful logo? Alexander chosed a minimalist design that allows the flame and the target to merge harmoniously. The result: a logo that summarises both the complexity of the inflammation processes and our precise research work.
The choice of colour was just as important. Alexander selected the colours of these institutions to emphasise our close connection to FAU and Uniklinikum Erlangen. The logo thus not only shows our research goals, but also our partnerships.
We are extremely proud of the result and are delighted to share this logo with the world. It tells the story of our work and our ambition to find innovative solutions to some of the biggest health problems of our time.
And it also marks the start of the next phase of our research journey to explore the #Immunoverse.
