Interdisciplinary Symposium „Medicine meets Physics: Light is exciting“
We would like to invite you to the interdisciplinary joint symposium of the CRC1181 and the Max Planck Institute for the
Science of Light (MPL).
The meeting brings two disciplines together, promotes scientific exchange and creates a platform for fruitful discussions
and future collaborations. With a focus on physical fundamentals and their biological-medical application areas, the
symposium gives insights into the MPL’s and the CRC1181’s research.
We are proud to announce among others the participation of Ralf Palmisano from the Optical Imaging Center Erlangen (OICE)
providing us with the newest and most advanced Imaging methodology and technology as well as Tobias Bäuerle from the
Preclinical Imaging Platform Erlangen (PIPE) providing high-resolution imaging techniques for preclinical investigations
in-vivo.
Furthermore, research group leaders from the MPL, respectively the Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin
(MPZPM), will present their ongoing research including methodological advancements ranging from state-of-the-art
microscopy methods to next-generation particle sizing.
Alongside, Stefan Uderhardt, Mario Zaiss and Daria Andreev from the FAU, Universitätsklinikum Erlangen
Department of Medicine 3 will illustrate research questions and scopes of applications for imaging methods in
biological-medical research.
The symposium will be held on 12.12.2022 – 13.12.2022 in Waischenfeld.
Further information regarding transport and costs will follow after registration.
